To Lisa Benoit, the Boys’ and Girls’ Club of Pittsfield provides community kids with a safe and stimulating environment to grow in. The Assistant Director of the Children’s Center and a Seed Teacher, Lisa has a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Westfield State College, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Early Childhood Education from the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with both a K-3 teacher and Director 1 certification. “For many kids, it is a great place to spend afternoons during the school year and summer days when school is out.”

She is most proud of her efforts to expand the Seed Program, which is designed for children who are age-eligible for kindergarten, as well as her successful grant application to build a playground at Camp Russell.
