Expanding programs and services. Outstanding athletics. An after-school program that parents can rely on. A place where the community comes together. To Dave Tierney, these are just some of the ways in which the Boy’s and Girls’ Club plays an indispensable role in the community.

“There are so many important things that the Club handles every day that no other agency is able to provide,” he said. “The comprehensive scope of the Club, its impact on kids and families, and its 100-plus year tradition in our community all make it a very unique place.”

Dave got his first membership when he was 8 years old, when he loved to skate and hang out in the game room. As an adult, he was named a Corporator of the Club. In 2007, Dave replaced his father on the Board of Directors, continuing a family tradition of dedicated service to the Boy’s and Girls’ Club that goes back more than 35 years.

“We believe in what the Boys’ and Girls’ Club stands for,” he said.

Chairman of the Board and President of David J. Tierney, Jr., Inc., Dave serves as chairman of the Directors’ Property Management Committee. At the moment, he is overseeing the renovations and expansion to the Club’s Lighthouse, and the recent installation of the new roof over the skating rink.

He and his wife Laurie are the parents of three children.
